Lately…
The delight in working with some of the sculpting talents we have, is what they, bring to the party. When we set a sculptor on a task, within constraints, we are in the hands of the person involved. Ask two different people to do the same tasks and the results are always different. What is even better is when sculptors press for there own interests to be taken into consideration when ranges are planned.
The Vietnam section was the baby of Richard Ansell, he convinced us, that there was a great number of gamers looking for good Nam minis. I had seen no sign of this in customer feedback; and thought that there were plenty of useful minis by other companies.
How wrong could I be? The Up Country thread has proven to be one of our most successful ventures to date. The miniatures collectively have pose and character. The Vietnamese in particular with their more gracile frames stand out from those of their opponents.
Having said that we listened to the sculptor when we were commissioning ranges, we also listened to those who had started to be regular TAG customers. Many gamers said that they wanted complete ranges not just selections of nice minis and they wanted British to go along side our US troops. |
