Mounted Arquebusiers on the Workbench
by pete - Wednesday, October 17th, 2012

This Workbench up-date, deals with our final basic troop types which are used for the armies of the various Italian States in the period of known as the Great Italian Wars.

The Italians seem to have been the first of the European states to start to use fire tactics troops from horse back, initially with crossbows but later with arquebus. These 6 new miniatures, represent these troopers, from there inception up until the mid 1540’s when this style of dress would be starting to go out of fashion.

These two new packs of mounted minis are in two basic poses; standing ready and firing, and come supplied on our new static early horses. Both these mounted fire tactic troops, the crossbowmen and the arquebusiers, fired from a standing position, rather than moving, but if you would prefer the moving horse used for our Jinetes and Stradiots, just ask on ordering and we’ll sort these out for you.

Once again these fine 28mm white metal miniatures have been sculpted by Nick Collier.
