Italian crossbowmen and Scrapoli

Added to our on-line shopping cart today are three new packets of 28mm white metal miniatures for our Italian Wars range.
These new Packs are, two new packs of crossbowmen advancing and firing and a further pack of Scrapoli with swords and bucklers.
Scrapoli were used in the Venetian colonies, the mainland of Italy and also on board boats and galleys through out the Mediterranean against Turks.

US Army with M14's released and lil' Dennis added to Freebie list

I’m delighted to announce that over the weekend we added two new packs of 28mm white metal miniatures to our Up Country (Vietnam) range.

These two new packs or US soldiers, armed with M14 rifles with add greater variety to our existing selection. The M14 was standard issue for Army and Marine formations through our the Sixties, and although replaced in Vietnam by the M16 in the early years of US involvement, these miniatures could also be suitable of Army and National Guards in the 1970’s.

English Civil War Harquebusiers with Triple Bar helmets

The triple bar helmet is most associated with the English Harquebusier cavalry of the 1640's, a lightened form of the heavier Cuirassiers dominant on the continent, Harquebusiers were the predominant cavalry type of the Parliamentarian army after 1643 as used by the 'Eastern Association'; and later the New Model Army, and although they became synonymous with the 'Roundhead' faction they could equally be found in 'Cavalier' units.

Father Tilly: Campaign is a game supplement for the Father Tilly rules that allows players to fight a series of connected scenarios within their chosen phase of the Thirty Years War. These new rules show the effects of campaigning on the players armies and the rewards for the victorious and the penalties for the defeated.

This supplement also introduces some of the wider strategic events that occurred in Europe at the time of the war and how these impacted on the combatants.

This week’s additions to the Workbench feature here at TAG, are the latest in our huge and expanding Thirty Years War range of 28mm miniatures are three new packs which we have been asked by gamers who come to our web-forum.

We have been asked to make more commanders for our infantry regiments, to add greater variety, instead of having the same for few cloned individuals commanding all the foot in their armies, so that is what we have done.

The Assault Group aren't making an English Civil War range...

But, occasionally we do make the odd pack of English miniatures for the 17th Century range, and in that context I delighted to show you these ‘English’ pikemen for the period 1610 – 1650. They are completely unarmoured, except for helmets, which on the continent of Europe was almost complete unheard off, and are posed with their pikes up-right.

Tatar horse-holder greens

Next on to the Workbench here at TAG HQ are 3 new Tatars for our Eastern Renaissance range of 28mm miniatures.

These musket armed warriors, called Segban, were mounted on ponies for ease of movement. We released the basic troops a year or so ago, but these new miniatures will allow those that would like to show their horse-holder represented on the model battlefield.

Brits and Afghans get more infantry support weapons

Its been a while since we released any new Ultra-Modern 28mm miniatures, the last being our Russian infantry in helmets almost three years ago.

In that time gamers have asked for a small number of additions to our existing ranges, mainly more infantry support weapons. So in response to those that have asked, we have returned to these ranges, using the original dolls and parts to make them compatible with the older minis, and added two new packs of 28mm miniatures.

Tudor Warfare.

Tudor Warfare is the second supplement for Bad War - the Renaissance battle rules. As the title suggests, the armies and battles of the Tudor and Elizabethan wars are covered here. Inside players can find army lists for the Anglo-Scottish Wars as well as details for the Royal and Rebel armies of the Western Rebellion.

Spanish Gent d'Armes greens added to Workbench

These new miniatures, i delighted to say, are the final type necessary for Spanish armies in the first part of the 16th Century, they are suitable for both the Trastamara Spanish and the Caroline Imperial lists in the new Fields of Glory Renaissance army lists.

It is my pleasure to announce that today, after a slight delay, when my ancient scanned finally gave up the ghost; I have added the first of many new releases to the TAG web-shop.

These are the Italian infantry commands, for any of the Italian city-states in the early part of the Great Italian war, but also suitable for Venetians serving in the their colonies in the Balkans. Italian infantry led the world in the use of fire arms in this period but were less well noted for their pikemen.

French Wars of Religion - Bad War supplement

This French Wars of Religion supplement is designed to be used with the renaissance battle rules - Bad War.

The supplement contains army lists and scenarios for the French Wars of Religion and the later Italian Wars. The scenarios included are for the battles of Ceresole, Dreux and Coutras and include background and terrain details, maps and unit cards detailing the profile of all the units involved.

Added today to the ‘Workbench’ feature of the TAG website are a selection of the Cavalry type that found there way into service in the Great Italian War at the end of the 15^th Century and the first quarter of the 16^th Century.

The majority of the Cavalry in use at the start of the period are the Lancers employed by the Condottieri Captains that ran the Mercenary style of war that was prevalent.

Designed for the early period of the Great Italian War 1495 - 1520, they would be suitable to lead units for any of the City States or allied contingents in service of the larger powers. We have one packet of four miniatures, in advancing poses and one pack in more static poses, it is thought that the advancing ones would be suitable for our Arquebusier units and the static ones more suitable for Pike blocks, but in reality there would have been little difference between the units commanders.
